Public SectorReporting to: Regional Manager IberiaLocation: Madrid, SpainJob SummaryThe Strategic Account Manager (SAM) is an executive sales position responsible for developing and closing business with approximately 10 top Accounts in our Public Sector focused group (mostly Central Government)Responsibilities? Responsible for selling the complete VMware solution, products, and services within a list of 10-15 geographically focused Named Accounts in conjunction with VMware's territory inside sales force? Learn and understand the assigned accounts' extended business model and create offerings and solutions to meet corporate goals? Become as intimate as possible with assigned accounts and bridge the gap to executives while increasing VMware mindshare? Solidify existing customer accounts and elevate VMware to a more strategic position within all accounts? Manage complex enterprise sales campaigns while managing a diverse set of partners within the same accounts? Match the VMware solution to the customer's business needs, challenges, and technical requirements? Forecasting and account/opportunity detail in SiebelThe role, responsibilities and geographical focus might change and develop over time along with the company's rapid growth.Candidate ProfileMust have proven experience in software/hardware sales in related territory, together with expertise in channel and direct sales. Candidates will possess a significant track record of accomplishment in sales, e.g. evidence of exceeding a quota, in the enterprise Desktop and/or security markets and the ability to work as part of an extended team in a complex matrix environment. Strong team lead experience, inside sales and field engineering would be a distinct advantage.Requirements? Experience and contacts within Central Government in Madrid?
