Senior Project Manager / SPM - Spain - Permanent

Reports to: Director of Project Management, Project Director, Director of Quality & Process Management, Director of Global Regulatory Affairs, Director of Marketing & Public Relations

GENERAL SUMMARY

Manages and leads the development and implementation process of a service project to client or customer involving departmental, cross-functional and/or multi-regional teams focused on the delivery of new or existing projects. Plans and directs schedules and may monitor budget/spending. Monitors the project from initiation through delivery. Organizes the interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project on schedule and within budget constraints. Manages the execution of day-to-day work results for projects. Ensures that projects are completed in accordance with specifications and client/customer expectations.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

* Schedules, supervises and delivers services to clients/customers

o Evaluates project objectives and scope for feasibility

o Facilitates the identification and documentation of project requirements

o Develops and implements the program plan, protocol, project plan, and resource requirements

* Ensures project team fulfill their project plan responsibilities in accordance with scope of work and project plan

o Oversees and reviews work product produced by project team members

o Provides guidance and mentoring to project team members

* Ensures that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to requirements and expectations

o Develops and implements project budgets and funding proposals; tracks actual expenditures to budget

o Coordinates and communicates project activities; produces project status reports on a timely basis, and alerts management of impediments to progress; conducts project status meetings, as appropriate

o Evaluates alternative solutions to resolve problems

o Resolves obstacles to team progress; may facilitate resolution with affected parties

o Ensures that work complies with PRA's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies, standards and procedures

o Manages customer expectations, to ensure customer satisfaction

* Interacts with client/customer to assure comprehensive management of projects

* Serves as the primary project contact for communication

* Maintains understanding of PRA's general business functions and systems

* Performs risk assessment and escalates to management if there is a significant business impact

QUALIFICATIONS

* Team-oriented and organized

* Makes effective presentations

* Demonstrates leadership skills, good communication and interpersonal skills

* Reads, writes and speaks fluent English; fluent in language of host country

* Prior experience in managing, mentoring and developing staff

* Prior experience in financial management of projects

* Proven project management experience

* Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred

* An advanced degree, or its international equivalent, preferred

* An undergraduate degree or its international equivalent

* Handles multiple responsibilities/projects on an ongoing basis

* An undergraduate degree or its international equivalent

* Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred

* Proven project management experience

* Prior experience in financial management of projects

* Prior experience in managing, mentoring and developing staff

WORKING CONDITIONS

Travel: 25-50%
