Job Number: 1380635 Business: GE Energy Business Segment: Energy - Energy Services Posted Position Title: EHS Specialist 6 Career Level: Experienced Function: Environmental Health & Safety Function Segment: General EHS Location: Spain City: L'Hospitalet de l'Infant Postal Code: 43891 Relocation AssistanceNo Role Summary/Purpose:Reporting to EHS Regional Manager, Reporting dotted line to Facility Manager Provide all EHS support for Facility Plana Del Vent, Power Plant at Tarragona Essential Responsibilities• Maintain an in-depth knowledge of existing and proposed country and local regulations. • Plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal occupational safety and health administration and environmental protection agency rules and regulations assigned. • Plan and implement programs and conduct EHS training to site personnel to understand and comply with all site EHS Management Systems. • Develop site-specific EHS programs and plans in accordance with country & local regulations. • Implement and execute GE Energy and GE PGS O&M EHS programs/processes to attain full compliance with applicable laws and regulations • Work closely with Operations Teams to ensure effective implementation of all PGS O&M and Energy EHS Management Systems and gauge using prescribed scorecard systems. • Drive EHS compliance through audits, process/equipment review and proactive risk elimination. • Demonstrate strong leadership as a member of site management team. • Drive GE Corporate and GE Energy EHS initiatives and values. • Lead Compliance Assurance program at site. • Perform site audits and lead efforts with management teams to implement corrective actions. • Facilitate incident/accident investigations and develop corrective & preventative action plans. • Cooperate in the preparation of material and evidence for site use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations. • Maintain EHS expertise to provide technical and regulatory support to Operations teams. • Coordinate EHS efforts among external GE and non-GE contractors who come to site. • Compile periodic reports to HQ. • Work cooperatively with EHS HQ on various projects and initiatives. Qualifications/Requirements:• A degree in Environmental Engineering, Health and Safety (Senior technician in Occupational risk prevention-Master in Occupational risk prevention preferred) or a related technical degree or diploma. • Minimum of 3+ years of related EHS experience in heavy industry or hi-tech manufacturing. • Strong computer skills, primarily with MS Office software programs and able to navigate internet and intranet tools • Experience with Regulatory Agency interaction • Strong oral and written English communication skills. • Demonstrated influencing skills in a team • Comprehensive knowledge of local regulations • Ability to work with site management team and with all levels of management • Locally based person or candidate prepared to relocate on a long term basis to Tarragona locality.
