The Role

As a Bloomberg News summer intern, you'll get hands-on experience working on a Global News channel. Bloomberg's media services cover the world with more than 2,200 news and multimedia professionals at 146 bureaus in 72 countries. The BLOOMBERG TELEVISION 24-hour network reaches more than 240 million homes globally. In Europe, Middle East and Africa, BLOOMBERG TELEVISION is available in over 144 million households.

As an intern based in Madrid, you will contribute to our coverage of financial markets, companies, the economy and governments. This is an opportunity to work in a challenging, exciting and competitive broadcast news environment. You will be writing scripts, editing video, researching stories and guests as well as generally assisting producers and reporters.

You will be assisting the field producers to organize location shoots, book crews and where appropriate outside broadcasts. Also there will be the opportunity for you to work with the team sourcing voice-overs and editing video. You'll actually get a chance to see your work on air!

This is a paid 10 week internship program which begins on June 28th 2010. Along with your resume and cover letter, please attach not more than three examples of your work.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required
- Passion for TV news producing
- Interest in providing objective high quality business reporting
- Prior work experience in a newsroom is required, ideally in a broadcast
environment.
- Audio and/or video editing skills is desirable
- Ability to work within a team under deadline pressure
- Fluent written and spoken English is essential
- Fluent written and spoken Spanish is essential.
- Applicants must be available to work for 10 weeks beginning on June 28th 2010
